I found your article informative, however for my job I need more of a step by step walk-through on how to password protect a page. I just graduated from art school and I am designing a non-profit boy scout site for work. If you could be of any help at all or need more information before you can help me, please write back to me as soon as possible. Thank you.

Just one thing tho. What's to prevent a computer savvy person from finding out the password by doing View Source in the browser? Perhaps it would be nice if everyone would work on a code of honor but we know real world isn't made of dream stuff. Is there another way of doing this?

Both examples work well in Netscape. However, neither work in IE 5.

I'd like to add my name to the growing list of hopefuls who have discovered (the hard way) that this script _doesn't work_ with MSIE5. Given that so many people now use this browser, would it not be a friendly act to remove this script from your site, or at least attach a (very large) health warning? Thanks for trying, anyway -- David

This is good but I've found it to technical because I'm just starting to attempt to learn html thus I've had to read it a few times but after my fourth and fifth tries trieng to change the coding I think I could do it in not to long
Thanks.
